What You Should Know Before Buying a Pair of Cowboy Boots

June 20th, 2009 admin No comments

Initially, when the cowboy boots originated they were meant only for work purposes. But today, some people like wearing the modern versions of cowboy boot for the feel of it. One must have two pairs of cowboy boots- one for work, and one for play. The latter can be a little more exotic depending on how much one can spend.

The designs of cowboy boots are unique, therefore, its way easier to buy a well fitting pair of regular shoe than that of a cowboy boot. Cowboy boots will never fit exactly the same way as other shoes do. It takes a lot of skill and knowledge on the part of the sales person to guide you about properly fitting cowboy boots. You surely wouldn’t like to depend on the sales person’s experience in purchasing shoes for buying your own pair of cowboy shoes. You surely would hate it if the boot you have invested in isn’t comfortable since cowboy boots in generally are pretty much expensive (read forty dollars to several hundred dollars per pair). Here’s how to buy a great fitting pair of cowboy boots so as to get the most of the money you have paid for it.

When you enter a shop to  buy yourself a pair of cowboy boots , make sure that your feet is measured by the sales person and do measure both feet since each foot is a different size. Another very important thing is the time of the day you are going shopping. Feet are different sizes at different points of time during the day. Preferably you should go shopping at midday. Avoid shopping in the morning or late at night. Boots bought in the morning will get too tight at night. The reverse is also true if you buy boots in the night, they’ll be far too large for your comfort the next morning.

After you are done with the foot measurement, turn your attention to the toes. The toes of cowboy boots have many varieties. Some of them have boxy toes while others have pointy toes and still others have rounded toes. If you pick a boot which doesn’t compliment your toe-shape, you won’t be able to wear it comfortably.

After you have chosen the toe shape, look at the depth of your foot from the arch to the top of your foot. Especially women having deep foot will have trouble finding a boot which does not bind. The best choice in that case for that woman will be to buy a pair of boots either a boy’s or small men’s size. This also works the same way for those having wide feet. In general, women’s cowboy boots are made with a B width while that of men are made with a D width. Those of you who have wide feet, it is advisable that you should buy a boot made with a wide width or shop in the boy’s department.

The next thing that you are supposed to choose is the heel height. These boots are available in any number of heels; the heel heights have a wide range of varieties. For general wear or for work purpose you might want to go with a short heeled boot. But for fancy purpose or night time fun you might prefer a very high heeled exotic one.

After all this is taken care of, purchase a boot that should suit both your taste and foot structure. To try the boot on you have to roll up your pant to just below the knee and then pull the boot on with the tabs at the top. If it’s the right buy, you should feel very comfortable in it and sliding your foot in and out of it should also be easy.

You should also keep in mind that the seam attaching the leg of the boot with the shoe part should not be binding. Your toes should have the space to wriggle somewhat in the boot and while walking your heel should slide a little in the heel of the boot. Bear in mind that certain materials stretch over time, for example, if you are buying leather boot, you may buy a slightly tighter one than a corresponding synthetic boot.

Choosing and Buying the Best Baby Booties and Baby Shoes

June 20th, 2009 admin No comments

One of the most exciting times for new parents is when they begin to prepare for the coming of their new bundle of joy. Outfitting the little guy with a new wardrobe, including baby booties and eventually baby shoes, can be quite a daunting and time-consuming task, but a task most new parents love.

If the new baby is lucky enough to have a grandma, auntie or doting neighbor who can crochet or knit, perhaps some handmade items will be coming his way. But if not, there are many exciting booties available in all the baby shops out there today.  Baby booties  should be warm, snugly, and of course, cute! Look for ones with a top that will stay up when baby kicks those tiny toes. A bootie that winds up at the bottom of the bed instead of staying on those wee feet obviously isn’t doing its job. A top that can be folded down into a cuff is also a good choice.

If your baby happens to be a preemie or has just really tiny feet, finding a well-fitting bootie can sometimes be difficult. Don’t forget to look at baby socks as well as traditional booties as that may be a good alternative. Probably due to the cuteness factor, some moms have an urge to put shoes on a small baby. They are often available in many adult-looking styles, such as tennis shoes, cowboy boots or even men’s work-style shoes. Reach out and buy a pair, but realize that the baby may not be as happy with them as Mom is. Small babies often have a problem keeping this style of shoe on their feet.

This seems to happen because the shoe may be made of a firm material which won’t conform to the shape of that little foot. Of course, if the shoes stay on until all the adults have admired them, they’ve probably served their purpose. Once your baby is up and walking, a well-fitting pair of tennis shoes is always a good choice. Don’t go overboard and spend a fortune for them, however, as they won’t fit long enough to be worn out.

For special times, little girls always love a dressy flat, preferably with straps to hold them on. Long ago, patent leather was what every well-dressed toddler wore. But times have changed and shoes covered in glitter or fake fur are all the rage today. For dressed-up little boys, an oxford should do the trick. This is a traditional shoe that is always in style.

Buying Mens Cowboy Boots

June 19th, 2009 admin No comments

Men’s cowboy boots come in such a range of different styles, colors and different types of material that it’s very difficult to decide which pair to purchase. The old days of real cowboys that needed to walk for miles or ride for hours, are very much over, and these days men’s cowboy boots are more of a fashion item where functionality is less important than the look and feel of the boot.

The cowboy look and image is a part of American culture, and the wide range of cowboy boot brands confirms the long lived popularity of this fashion footwear. The best quality leather is reserved for creating the cowboy boot, and brands such as Tony Lama or Justin Roper have built huge business’ providing men’s cowboy boots to the mass market. These companies offer a range of shapes and styles, suitable for the conservative or highly flamboyant individual. These men’s cowboy boots can range anywhere from under $50 to upwards of $500.

At the more exotic end of the market there are manufacturers who specialize in producing vintage cowboy boots, or those produced from the skins of animals such as crocodiles and snakes. Add to these various motives and embossing and you get a highly individual pair of high quality boots, that are comfortable to wear and great to look at.

If you’re looking to buy a pair of men’s cowboy boots, I would suggest you stick with the big brands. Some of these companies have been making boots since the early part of the 19th Century and certainly know how to build a quality product at an affordable price.

Choosing the Right Women’s Cowboy Boots

June 18th, 2009 admin No comments

With so many different styles of boots it can be hard to determine what type of women’s cowboy boots to choose. Many people are overwhelmed by the choices and do not know where to start but it can be very simple to find that next pair of great footwear.

First ladies should go over what they will be used for. Are the women’s cowboy boots going to be used simply for pleasure or are they going to be used to work in. For those who are just buying boots to go with casual outfits they can simply pick their favorite pair. It may be a good idea to pick designs that can go with several outfits or that seem to be durable.

For those ladies that are looking for  work boots  they need to ask a few more questions. First of all what type of work is in. If it is outside work they should buy some that are waterproof so that they first big rain will not damage them. It is also important to buy durable ones. Make sure to buy boots that can withstand the day to day rigorous that are involved with a job. Find out whether it’s needs to have steel toes or if a leather boot will do. It is important to ask as many questions as possible in order to make sure the right cowboy boots are purchased.

Next decide on a budget. An individual may want to spend more on personal shoes than work shoes that are just going to get dirty. Some brands can be very reasonable while other brands are several hundred dollars. Do a little research in order to determine an appropriate price range so and stick to it.

Most people would not want to buy expensive cowboy boots and then work in them so it is a good idea to look around. Ladies can find information on the internet. The internet is one of the best sources for information because individuals can search for just about anything with little to know questions.

Check out local retail stores also they may have a selection of cowboy boots for ladies to choose from. Many stores only carry a limited amount of inventory so it may be easier to simply order some shoes off of the internet. Retail internet sites typically have a larger inventory and many times they also contain more sizes than traditional stores because they have access to a warehouse full of shoes.

Lastly go in the store or online and pick out what is needed. Never be afraid to ask questions about any issue that arises. If the shoes does not say whether it is water proof or not call the company and ask for a detailed description. The most important thing is to get cowboy that have all the necessary features. Most ladies want comfortable shoes so check the description to see about any extra cushioning that might be available in the shoes. Then simply go for it and buy those perfect boots.
